Piggly Wiggly. They do exist. At least in South Carolina.
We walked the beach at Myrtle Beach. Not quite as cool as the beach on the Outerbanks, but still a beach.
Just outside Charleston we stopped at the Boone Hall plantation. It's actually one of the few plantations that is still a working plantation.
One of my favorite parts of of this plantation is the historic "Avenue of Oaks": a nearly one mile drive up to the house with live oaks on either side. The moss that hangs down is just breathtaking.
After checking out the plantation, we drove to Charleston and walked around the historic district. It was amazing to see these buildings that were hundreds of years old and still in amazing condition. They've done a lot to restore and preserve them. The Civil War history that took place in this city was also intriguing.
While in South Carolina, we stopped off in Columbia and went to the temple. The Willifords drove down from Hickory to join us. It was a special experience to be there with them. Beautiful temple and wonderful company!
